✿ Meet Lizelle
Liz is a Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer thriver, a lymphoma survivor, and a "boy mom" to Grayson. Her journey with cancer began at just 16 years old. Since then, she has faced the disease seven times, including numerous chemo cycles, two liver resections, and the removal of her right kidney.
The Woman Who Refused to Let Cancer Win
Liz never let her diagnosis define her limit to give. She became a voice for the voiceless, riding across South Africa with Cancervive to educate communities and spread hope. She also champions Project Flamingo, fighting to ensure women in public hospitals receive timely mastectomy surgeries and dignity packets.
Closer to home, she founded the Cancer Sisterhood Circle in Port Elizabeth, creating a safe harbour where women can breathe without explaining a thing. She also coordinates care bags for oncology patients at Livingstone Hospital, ensuring no one faces the cold hospital wards alone. She spent her life building a raft for others; now she needs our help to stay afloat.
The Path of a Thriver
Non-Hodgkin's B-cell Lymphoma
Diagnosed at age 16. She endured 10 cycles of aggressive chemo while her peers focused on high school.
Stage 2 Breast Cancer
At 33, with a 14-month-old baby on her hip, she faced cancer again. Mastectomy, reconstruction, and six more rounds of chemo.
Metastasis to liver and scapula
The cancer has recurred 5 more times. We need this new chemo to stop the progression in her liver.
